Alterra Bioenergy Biographies

Wayne Johnson
CEO

Mr. Johnson has been a successful entrepreneur for over 25 years and has held senior executive positions in the credit card and banking industries.  These include First Interstate Bankcard, Providian Financial Corporation, First Data Corporation and Visa USA.  He is a former partner in the Atlanta office of Deloitte and Touche. Recently he has entered the alternative fuels sector and is the President and CEO of Alterra Bioenergy Resources Corporation which currently has two biodiesel plants in progress with a combined annual production capacity of 75 million gallons.  Mr. Johnson earned his MBA from Emory University and his BBA from Mercer University.

    

Harry Cummins
COO/CFO

Mr. Cummins has over 25 years of experience in turnarounds, startups, acquisitions and reorganizations in a wide variety of companies.  For the past six years he has been a partner with Tatum, LLC, a nationwide leader in providing executive services and financial consulting to businesses in transition.  He has been the CFO for nine companies, his most recent being Omega Environmental Technologies which was named Exporter of the Year by the Export/Import Bank of the US.  He has also held executive positions in strategic planning for Visa USA Inc., Lucky Stores Inc. and AT&T Capital Corporation.  A former CPA, his public accounting experience was with KPMG Peat Marwick in Atlanta.  Mr. Cummins holds an MBA and a BBA in accounting from Texas A&M University.

    

 Lisa Ryan
Vice President

Lisa serves as the company’s compliance and regulatory affairs officer and participates in public education and outreach initiatives. She holds a B.S. degree from Mercer University School of Engineering and served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps. Her experience is in mechanical and industrial manufacturing environments working both domestically and internationally. Prior to coming to Alterra, she worked for The Coca-Cola Company implementing production planning modules at their concentrate beverage manufacturing facilities and for Blue Bird Bus Company as a process analyst for their school bus production operations.

Lisa currently serves as Chairman of the National Biodiesel Board’s Producers Committee, Co-Chairman of the National Biodiesel Board’s Political Action Committee, and is an Executive Board Member of Middle Georgia Clean Cities Coalition.

 

Iraj Moradinia
CTO

Dr. Moradinia has over 27 years experience in manufacturing and E & C firms and project management in the chemicals, specialty chemicals, biofuels, and power and petrochemicals industry. He has worked in senior technical positions for Shell Chemical Co., BASF and in the Biofuels industry such as Amoco and Stone & Webster Inc. (US) and performed projects for Chemateur Corp Karlskoga (Sweden), Pekin Energy Corp (US), Datagro (Brazil), Gridley Consortium Corp Orroville (US). He also worked on biofuels at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) which is part of US DOE. Dr. Moradinia holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas-Austin and an MS and PhD in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He is certified as a Professional Engineer. At Alterra Dr. Moradinia is the engineering manager responsible for plant engineering design, plant upgrades, plant production and process optimization.
